June 2nd- June 6th Photography Retreat
Celebrate the great American West beneath the backdrop of the iconic Teton mountain range in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and from the comforts of the historic guest ranch, Lost Creek Ranch & Spa.
Join us as we kick off the 2024 season with a Photography Retreat led by recognized photographer & director, Scott Slusher of Dallas, Texas. The four-night, all-inclusive stay will offer an authentic guest ranch experience with authentically styled western photoshoots and experiences along the way.
About Scott Slusher
Balancing his signature cowboy aesthetic with a background in fashion, photographer and director Scott Slusher is just as comfortable shooting a Times Square beauty campaign as he is capturing the white-knucked action of the rodeo. The photographer and motion artist has a degree in fashion design from the Art Institute of Dallas and has been recognized by the Shorty Awards. Scott is based in Dallas, Texas and can usually be spotted by his trademark neckerchief.
Sample Week Itinerary:
Sunday – Arrive to the ranch and enjoy a Campfire mixer and sunset horse release.
Guests will check-in to their log cabin accommodations, tour the ranch by horse-drawn wagon followed by a mixer fireside at the cookout. After dinner, our Wrangler staff will feed by wagon and release the herd of 85 horses under the sunset of the Teton mountain range.
Monday – Saddle up and hit the trails!
No time is wasted spent in the saddle. Guests will navigate the trails of Grand Teton National Park horseback. After a ride back to the ranch and lunch at the Lodge, Scott will lead us through a Q&A discussion and share valuable tips on camera settings for the rest of the week.
The afternoon session will include a shoot from the arena as the Wranglers rope and move cattle.
Tuesday – Wildflowers & Water Lope
Post-breakfast guests will meet down at the barn for stylized shoots around our historic log barn. Shoot images of wranglers catching horses, saddling, and preparing for the day. Scott’s experience in high-fashion editorial and cowboy art will aid in directing poses and concepts. Once saddled, guests will hit the trails for another day of riding in GTNP. A picnic lunch and camera equipment will be staged in a beautiful meadow of Wyoming wildflowers.
The final shoot of the day will take place at the snake river for a highspeed water lope by our Cowboy models.
Wednesday – Breakfast cookout and Jackson Hole Rodeo
Breakfast will be served fireside from cast iron before heading out for a day of activities. Guests can choose to ride, float the snake river or spend a leisurely day by the pool or Spa.
In the afternoon, transportation will be provided to the famous T. A. Moulton Barn, a historic barn within the Mormon Row Historic District before heading to the Jackson Hole Rodeo.
Thursday – Breakfast and Departure
Following the incredible workshop we encourage you to share and post your imagery. Lost Creek kindly requests the ability to repost your images with photo credit.
